Dr. Rajkumar’s charity work

Dr. Rajkumar’s charity work

Very few people know about Rajkumar’s charity work. Rajkumar never spoke about his charity and had supposedly requested the journalists not write about it. He is supposed to have donated the proceedings from his devotional albums to charity and to have built an ashram for young widows and orphan girls. He toured Karnataka extensively to send donations to Kargil war victims. He donated a lot of money in aid of eye donation camps and conducted many blood donation camp on the occasion of his birthday. He was an eye donor and as per his wish, his eyes were donated after his death.

  2. Dr.Rajkumar was public property he belongs all karnataka pepople, not only in karnataka all over india. He is equal to any God, since the god never gives any thing directly but indirectly he supports so much to the people in the same way dr.raj gave us so many things by being himself as real human life(Naya,Vinaya,Athmiyathe, saralathe, preethi, soujanya, shanthi) also by accepting good story which impress the people modify themself. Most peoples are modified their life by seeing Dr.Rajs movie. So i can say this was the one of great Charity work by Dr.Raj.

  3. Thank you very much for the web site. I feel data uploaded in the web site is too small when compared to the achievements. Kannada industry and the development of Dr. Raj is simultaneous, so one can just imagine the contribution of the actor with respect to kannada films and the national cinema. He is the only actor in the world to don the variety of roles ( Hisotrical, Mythlogical, social, bond etc) and succeeded in enhancing the image of such roles. He is only the successful singing super star in the history of Indian films and may be in World Films.

His involvement in the roles can be judged by the expressions on his face and there is no match for him in this regard. Shivaji Ganeshan, Sanjeev Kumar and Dr. Rajkumar are the real 24 carat Jewels in this history Indian Film Industry from its beginning till date.
The web site has to be like Bhagavadgita. There are lot of stories, antecedotes, his experience to be updated in the web site. I am looking forward for the updated version.

  5. There is no comparison to Raj in acting skills. He has acted in almost all types of roles, being successful in the same is the real achievement to be noted here. No doubt I am a great of Raj but at the same time I am also fan of Shivaji Ganeshan, Kamal Hassan, Amitabh Bachan, Rajanikanth. They are popular in their own way. Raj is the only successful singer and start. This was even expressed by our great singer C. Ashwath in one of programs in which he was acting as a judge. As a great fan some times I used get to discussion and people used to question me what has Raj done to people. He does most of the films in his own banner and gets all his share of money for his family. I used to defend, why is it required by Raj to do for people with his money. They used to compare to Rajanikanth and Ambarish. I was really taken away when great personalities like Girish Kasaravalli, actor Ashok and great writers said about Raj day he died. The FM had a special program where great personalities were allowed to talk about Raj on that day. One said that the Kannada language took birth the same year when Raj entered into film industry. Raj was only person who was able to reach Kannada to all levels of people from lower class to upper class. The great writers are able to reach uppper class. The great directors who made documentaries with a message were able to reach upto middle class. One of them told that where is concept that elder brother should get married after his sister gets married. He told that no book talks about this at least to his knowledge. People were greatly effected about this by Rajkumar movies. Raj was able to convey the importance of Kannada language in most of the movies as a message. There was kind of motivation across each person which was brought about unknowingly towards Kannada language. I even remember that people used to use Dr Raj name for protection during regional conflicts. Wow that was his image. Raj never built these, it was people who have made it. I even remember even today when Raj was invited as a speaker to host stage of Doctors meet. He was called to talk about the importance of yoga. He bought a change in many people with the importance of yoga though never he preached to learn or perform yoga to anyone. Few people are able to remember many mythological characters even today because of his movies not because of books. The stories were so realistic in which Raj bought the mythological characters to life. And there are many movies which brought a change in people. I have heard that people were greatly motivated to work back in villages after seeing the movie “Bangaradha Manusha” during that time. And also the Dr Raj Association even today is invovled in development of Kannada language. I am telling too much abt Dr Raj, but I feel many times we require these when we want to stand up to other languages. We need to be aware there are lot of things in our Kannada film industry also only thing we need to properly convey to others.

  7. I grew up watching Dr. Raj’s movies and was his ‘bhakta’ as many million others. I am over 50 years of age now, live in Atlanta, USA, away from my beloed country and I never feel I am away from my country and my people when ever I watch Dr. Raj’s movie DVDs. Such is his magic. Technology and conforts I am used to take second place whenever I sit down to watch his old movies in B/W, for, watching his movies now have more value addition than entertainment alone; good human qualities portrayed by him through various characters he played is more than sufficient to bring back the good person in you, even if you ahve changed a lot! He still lives in my thoughts and brings out the best person in me always. As I proudly proclaim with my friends and relatives, ” is is a daivaamsha sambhoota” and an everlasting gift to mankind!

  11. I agree with Srinath,
I am based in UK, I am in 40′s, but I grown up with Raj moveis, from age 7 till 35 when I left India.
Raj’s every film, give a message how to improve good human qualities. He was a legend in Real life as well as in Reel life, He never potrayed any bad qualities in his films and in real life.

Thats the greatest gift to all kannadigas and he enriched kannada culture with Kuvempu, Sir M V Visweswarayya.

    Hats off to RAJ

    good work, keep it up

  15. Wine store in front of Dr. Raj poonya bhoomi,

    Annavara yella abhimanigalige namana.

i want to check with you, how many of you have really seen the annavru samadhi(punyabhoomi of annavru)?

the reason i am asking you is, i pass that road everyday and that road has become on tourist spot for thousands and i am so happy being kannadiga and i know we are all proud that a kannadiga is getting such high respect.

but in contrary to all these – A kannadiga has opened a wine store to attract crowd whcih comes to Dr Raj Samadhi- what a wonderful idea of making money isnt it??,

people who come to visit samadhi are annoyed, they dont feel like coming to that place again, some ppl get drunk and fall infront of samadhi till 11 in the night and and one of them died on the road, there will be atleast 500 people around the place who will be drunk and raoming , making all kind of ruckus, fighting and what not.

with all of these nonsense would you like to go to samadhi?

As we all know a bar or wine store is not allowed infront of monuments and temples, schools, etc. what is government doing?? what are excise officials doing?? dont they know this? everyone knows it infact cops take money everyday from wine store

can we find an end to this , can we all make the place a beautiful tourist spot, lets join hands and take it to the press, take it to ppl and find an end to this

  17. I’m admire so much for the person he was. I don’t think anybody who was so popular as he was ever led such a simple life as he did (other than Mahatma). He was a complete human being. If at all I have seen humility in anybody that was in him. For him, there was not difference between the rich & poor, educated & uneducated, vip & non-vip. We treated everybody with great grace. A great soul who born to enrich the culture and Language of Karnataka. There are so many who speak that they live for kannada and karnataka, but for me he is at top along with some of the great people who lived for the state and preserve and enrich kannad language. He is one of the best human being I have seen my life.
