Photo Gallery of Dr. Raj in Dasara Expo

In a graphic representation of more than seven decades of Kannada films history, K.M. Veereshs collection of photographs — about 1,000 of his stock exceeding 50,000 — of eminent personalities of Kannada film world are exhibited in Kannada Karanji building in Dasara Exhibition premises here.

Stills of Kannada matinee idol, Dr. Rajkumar, attract the particular attention of visitors to the expo.

The exhibition of photographs, Suvarna Karnataka Chitraloka, inaugurated on Thursday, is open to public upto Oct. 16.

Visitors can feast their eyes looking at the large collection of rare photographs spanning that of Subbaiah Naidu in the first Kannada film Sati Sulochana made in 1934 to major ones from films produced in 2006.

Noted film personality M.P. Shankar, who took part in the inaugural function, expressed his happiness while getting lost in the world of pictures on viewing the photographs on display.

He told Veeresh that he would pass on the photographs in his possession to him -Veeresh. He was happy on seeing his photograph taken on the occasion of his receiving the Dr. Raj award, which he didn’t possess.

The expo, which gives the feeling of viewing a three-hour film show consists of both colour pictures and black-and-white ones. Photographs of 126 important filmstars are also on display. A CD containing 2,500 photographs of the film world is also available.
