Only Dr Raj films please!

Members of the local unit of the Dr. Rajkumar Fans’ Association have urged the district administration to direct schools and colleges in the district to compulsorily celebrate Rajyothsava Day every year.

As part of Suvarna Karnataka celebrations, a week-long film festival of Rajkumar films was held. The forts in the city will be cleaned and weeds will be removed, he said.

A meeting of owners of all theatres will be convened and a written order to screen only Kannada films in November will be passed, he said. Directions will be issued to all commercial establishments and organisations to write the sign boards in Kannada within November and action be taken against those who do not implement the directions, he added.

The association had been working for the cause of Kannada since last 25 years. The district administration did not invite the office-bearers of the association for the Rajyothsava preparatory meeting. The association condemned this and urged to invite the office-bearers at least for the next meetings.

Association hon. president Basavaraj Kalasa, president K Veeresh and hon. secretary J L Gopi led the delegation which met Deputy Commissioner Tushar Girinath and submitted a memorandum here on Tuesday.
