Legendary Rajkumar goes global
Dr Rajkumar, The Inimitable Actor With a Golden Voice, the English version of a book covering the life, films and achievements of the legendary Kannada hero will be released on May 10 in New Jersey. uthored by A N Prahalada Rao, who contributes daily to leading Kannada dailies, the book will be released by the Karnataka Cultural Organisation-Brindavana, a registered and cultural organisation based in New Jersey which has close to 1000 Kannadigas as its members.
Originally written in Kannada titled as Bangarada Manushya (A man of Gold) and published in 2005 to mark the Sarthaka Suvarna, 50 years of the thespian’s film career, the book has had three editions and sold over 15,000 copies, said Rao during the release of the English version in India. The English version of the book has been translated by Jayshree Alladi, a scribe, and Prof C N Ramchandaran.
“The aim of the book was to reach out to a global audience. Rajkumar was a cult figure and cannot be restricted to just the local geography, he has a large fan following even abroad among Kannadigas”, Rao said. The 204-page book, comprising 18 chapters, takes a close look at Rajkumar’s films, providing factual details about each of his films.
It also provides information on his films based on mythology, those based on novels, the social dramas and even his role as the Indian version of James Bond. The book explores his role as the ’singing star’ one, who lent his golden voice to the characters he enacted be it the village simpleton, a great mythological character or even as the do-gooder or the protagonist of many a social drama.

Dr Rajkumar is liked by people for his good behaviour and simplicity, he never said against any one small or big, he lived a clean life and did is job to satisfy his profession as an actor, he has done so much to speak charity for flood, cyclone, war victims by his profession only, he could have grabbed his popularity for self gains but he never betrayed people by going into politics because its a game of oppurtunists. We love him

Dr.Rajkumars contibution to Indian Cinema, through the Kannada Mainland is remarkable. He is one actor whose contributions are not known to many people even in South India. This website is a good attempt towards that goal. Kannada cinema needs to be marketed in south Indian states. One step towards that would be Making the evergreen songs of Dr.Rajkumar available to public. It must also contain translations of lyrics in English so that non native Kannada listners also can enjoy. Songs would certainly help in taking Dr.Rajkumars popularity in South Indian States high.
