Holiday on dr. raj birth anniversary likely: cm
Thespian late Dr. Rajkumar”s birth anniversary will be observed as Raj Jayanthi and the Government will soon take a decision to grant a holiday that day, announced Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. Speaking after unveiling the statue of Raj on Kempegowda Road this morning to mark the birthday celebrations of the thespian, Kumaraswamy observed that Rajkumar was not just a film personality but strived for the land and water of the State. As a fitting tribute to the legendary figure, the memorial at Kanteerava Studios will be developed on the lines of a National Memorial, assured CM. Over 1,000 people had gathered at the programme. The family of Dr. Raj offered pujas today at the memorial in Kanteerava Studios. The Government has organised a cultural programme this evening there.
