Devotees oppose renaming of circle

Sri Chandramouleshwar temple committee and devotees have opposed the municipality move to rename Chandramouleshwar circle after late matinee idol Dr Rajkumar.In a statement here on Sunday, the committee said that it would oppose the renaming of the circle after Dr Rajkumar.

They opined that it would not be appropriate to change the name of the Chandramouleshwar circle as it had historic relevance. Temple committee president Narasareddy in a statement with signatures of the devotees said that the committee would condemn the municipality’s move.

It may be recalled that the city municipal council in its recent meet has resolved to rename the Chandramouleshwar circle after Dr Rajkumar on a demand made by Dr Rajkumar Fans Association here.

Though the association has suggested renaming the Theenkhandil as Dr Rajkumar circle, but the municipality decided to rename the Chandramouleshwar circle after Dr Raj.
