Book on Dr Rajkumar released

Support of Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil to Maharashtra’s anti-Karnataka stand over border issue was breach of democratic values, opined Minister for Water Resources K S Eshwarappa. He was speaking after releasing Kannada book titled Kannada Kalakantheerava Dr Rajkumar, edited by Gouri Sundar, at Kuvempu Rangamandir in Shimoga on Sunday.

Shivaraj Patil has started the bad tradition by supporting Maharashtra in Belgaum border issue. Such undemocratic move had sent wrong message and provoked Maharashtra. At this juncture, remembrance of film actor late Dr Rajkumar’s enthusiasm to save Karnataka is need of the hour.

Dr Rajkumar had shown right path to all Kannadigas to raise their voice against anti-Karnataka moves. Roles acted by him would speak on how to lead life with the moral values. Kannada Kalakantheerava Dr Rajkumar book will be available at all libraries in Karnataka.

Proper efforts in this regard will be made soon, he assured.Inaugurating the programme, Hampi University dean Prof Mallepuram G Venkatesh said that Dr Rajkumar was only one artiste who had good command over Kannada. Book Kannada Kalakantheerava Dr Rajkumar focussed on the different faces of his personality. All Kannadigas should be proud that such a greatest personality was in Karnataka, he opined.

MLC Ganesh Karnik spoke. Pratibharanga president M N Sundararaj presided. Dr Ashok Pai, Na D’souza, B M Annapurnamma, Vijayshri, Rukmini Madhavarao, Jayanna, K Vasudevachar, T P Rudregowda were felicitated on the occasion.
