9-man panel for Raj memorial formed
Kannada and Culture Minister H S Mahadeva Prasad announced a nine-member trust headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has been constituted with regard to construction of late thespian Rajkumar Memorial at Kanteerava Studio in Bangalore. He was speaking at a function organised to felicitate producer Parvathamma Rajkumar, veteran artistes K S Ashwath and M P Shankar as part of Mysooru Utsava here on Sunday. Noting that the memorial will be built at a cost of Rs 3 crore, Mr Prasad claimed the government had decided to transfer the amount to the trust. “The work on the memorial will take off soon,” he said.
The trust, consisting of Parvathamma Rajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Baraguru Ramachandrappa and others, will meet in the first week of August.
The government has already earmarked the required space for the memorial, which will house a yoga centre and a museum depicting the life of Rajkumar, Mr Prasad said.
